The textile industry has a petrochemical dependence. Awareness is growing, but so is greenwashing. According to research by the European Commission, 42% of sustainability claims in the textile industry are false or misleading, due largely to a lack of regulation or enforcement.
Our mission: prove that petrochemicals are unnecessary in textiles. We're embracing innovation, robust regulation, and consumer empowerment. Finishing
Conventional: Use of chemicals like Formaldehyde or PFAS for artificial enhancements like antibacterial, antifungal, wrinkle and stain or water resistance.
AIZOME: Steering clear of chemical finishes, valuing the fabric and dye's natural attributes.

What lies beneath
In textile, cotton (conventional and organic) is typically bleached to increase dye absorption. At AIZOME, we prefer to avoid bleach, or any harsh, toxic, or synthetic chemicals. Our dyed shirts are made from what we call Virgin Cotton; this is the beautiful, unbleached ivory shade of the regenerative organic cotton that we use.
If you look closely, you may spot tiny black specks known as 'Kitty' in Bengali, which are remnants of the cotton husk. While other companies often remove these with strong chemical washes, we choose to preserve them. At the core of every dyed t-shirt is an unbleached organic cotton treasure.

What does "healthy textile" mean?
Our use of medicinal plants and avoidance of synthetic chemicals highlights our commitment to safety and health, distinguishing HealthWear from conventional textiles. Our goal is to transform textile production, offering healing rather than harming fabrics.
We are taking textiles to the next level of non-toxic by imagining what we wear as a matter of health, beyond fashion, convenience and technical performance. AIZOME is pursuing regulatory clearance and listing through the FDA as the first textile intended to be used to help heal skin from the negative effects of synthetic chemicals in clothes. Our textiles were designed and manufactured to meet the requirements of an FDA Class 1 Medical Device, intended to treat, mitigate, and prevent diseases in those with chemical sensitivities and skin conditions (eg acne, contact dermatitis eczema, psoriasis, rosacea, rosacea).
What certifications do you have?
While we often exceed standard certification requirements, we are actively pursuing specific ones. All our suppliers are GOTS certified, and we're working towards obtaining GOTS and OEKO-Tex certifications for our brand by August 2024. We're evaluating a Regenerative Organic Certified status, sourcing 100% of our cotton from regenerative farms. Additionally, our tailor is Fair Trade certified, and our suppliers hold ZDHC certifications. Currently, we are not pursuing ZDHC certification for our products. Upon request, we can provide proof of the above.
When will we introduce new products or colors?
As a small company committed to exceeding industry standards, we prioritize integrity and quality, which means carefully developing new products and colors. Are there any other costs involved when ordering internationally?
Ordering from outside the USA via the North America shop or from outside the Schengen Area via the EU Shop makes you responsible for import fees. The product is made from 100% cotton and carries a 'Made in Turkey' label, helping you check applicable import fees.
Can you tell me where the shirts are made?
Our shirts are meticulously crafted using premium materials and ethical practices. They are tailored in India, dyed in Turkey utilizing our patented technology and process. For North American customers, they are shipped from our facilities in Nevada, USA, while European customers receive shipments from Augsburg, Germany.
